Tornadoes Week 1: During week 1, the students researched tornadoes (how they are formed, where they occur the most, and what season). The students also read non-fiction text about tornadoes, created a paper, and kept a portfolio of all their work.
Cover of Portfolio
The students created a portfolio out of folders. Then, they decorated the cover to match Natural Disasters.
Portfolio
This is the inside to the portfolio. The students created different foldables to represent different things we learned in class.
The students created a foldable for a KWL, safety tips, vocabulary, categories of a tornado, weather words, and Tornado Alley. They learned about the Fujita scale. Ask your child what this means....
The students highlighted Tornado Alley on the United States map.
At the end of the week, The students looked at everything they learned and created a paper about tornadoes. The students also drew a picture to represent a tornado. We took that picture and blabberized it.
